Nominations for the three awards for the 2019 Society of Family Planning Awards have closed. 

Session Proposals and Scientific Abstract Submissions are Now Closed

Thank you to everyone who submitted scientific abstract proposals, plenary proposals, and concurrent session proposals for this year's Society of Family Planning Annual Meeting.

  • Applicants for the session proposals will be notified in May.
  • Applicants for the Scientific Abstracts will be notified in June.

Is the Society of Family Planning Annual Meeting for me?

The Society of Family Planning is a community of family planning scholars, clinicians, partners, and leaders, representing a broad range of disciplinary and specialty backgrounds and united by a shared commitment to just and equitable abortion and contraception, informed by science. #SFP2019 is an opportunity for this community to come together.

#SFP2019 will feature:

  • CE/CME accredited sessions presented by leading family planning experts addressing timely topics,

  • New and applied research findings that provide concrete solutions to common difficulties delivering care and address challenges conducting research,

  • Pre-conference career development workshops, and

  • Networking opportunities with leaders in the field of family planning from across the United States.

I’m not a Society of Family Planning member. Can I attend the Annual Meeting?

We strongly encourage individuals committed to just and equitable abortion and contraception informed by science to attend. However, members receive a 25% discount on conference registration fees. Consider becoming a member today.

What security measures do you have in place for attendees?

The safety of meeting participants is of the utmost importance to us. To help ensure your safety, we will have security throughout the meeting, as well as a thorough screening process for all conference attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and volunteers.

Do you have any scholarships available to help offset the cost of travel and lodging?

We are happy to be able to offer a limited number of scholarships. Stay tuned for more details!

Is there a room block set up or a way to get a discounted rate?

We have a room block set up with a negotiated rate of $275/night for single and double rooms. Hotel details will be shared with attendees upon registration confirmation.

I would like to host a small meeting during the Annual Meeting. Is this possible?

An onsite meeting room — with a seating capacity of 20 — will be available from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm from Friday, 10/18 through Sunday, 10/20. Attendees can request the room for up to two hours, depending on availability and at no charge. The room has a board-style setup, and cannot be changed. It does not include any AV, food, or beverage. Per our contract with the hotel, there is a strict policy of no outside food in this meeting space. A penalty will be charged to any group that breaks the rule.
