Dear SFP fellows and colleagues,

On behalf of the board of directors, grant reviewers, and staff, I’m thrilled to send you information regarding the grants funded in our second competitive request for proposals (RFP) this year. We are especially excited to be able to fund a new multisite study, titled Non-surgical alternatives to treatment of failed medical abortion: A randomized placebo-controlled trial. The study PI is Tara Shochet, PhD, MPH, Gynuity Health Projects/National Abortion Federation.

Please be sure to also visit the grants funded page to see the awards for the new community-based participatory research (CBPR) grants and for the I² innovation planning grants. Additionally, if you or any of your colleagues would like to be eligible for grant funding in the 2016 RFP cycle, please be sure to apply for membership by December 1, 2015.

I’d like to sincerely thank the grant reviewers on the CBPR, I², and multisite grant review committees for their time and expertise. Since peer review is an essential component of our ability to fund studies intended to impact the field of family planning, we are sincerely grateful for your efforts. Finally, to all of the PIs who were funded through this RFP and the earlier one, I wish you much success as you proceed with your important work.
