Project abstract

Goal: Estimate the acceptability of implantable etonorgestrel (Implanon™) as a method of contraception inserted immediately following an induced abortion.

Objectives:

  1. Determine the continuation rate after one year in the post-abortion population.
  2. Describe bleeding patterns for the first three months after insertion immediately after an abortion.
  3. Identify factors associated with patient satisfaction with the single-rod implant as contraception post-abortion.
  4. Determine whether subjects would use this method again and/or recommend it to others.
