The Society of Family Planning (SFP) and the SFP Research Fund (SFPRF) strive for just and equitable abortion and contraception, which is informed by science. We aim to achieve our vision by being the source for science on abortion and contraception and supporting research regarding abortion and contraception.

Mark your calendar: The 2019 Society of Family Planning Annual Meeting will be held October 19-21 in Los Angeles, CA. Keep an eye out for a call for scientific abstracts and conference session proposals in early 2019.

Emerging Scholars’ awards:
We are delighted to announce the 24 recipients of our first-ever Emerging Scholars’ awards. Recipients of these awards (see map and photos) receive support to become SFP members, conduct independent research, publish open-access journal articles, and attend our annual meeting; some recipients have also been matched with a mentor in the field. Please join us in welcoming these scholars to our community and supporting their exciting research efforts.
