Dear SFP fellows and colleagues,

The SFP Research Fund is pleased to announce the upcoming 2015 competitive grant funding cycle. Below you will find important dates and information about this year’s RFP. Please read carefully as changes have been made to this year’s call for proposals.

To be eligible to apply for any grant in this funding cycle (with the exception of the trainee awards), you must be an SFP junior or full fellow. Colleagues who meet the junior or full fellowship criteria but are not currently SFP fellows must apply for fellowship no later than December 1, 2014, in order to participate in the 2015 grant cycle.

Important—please note: Proposal submission has changed from previous solicitations. The large research proposal review is moving to a two-step process. In 2015, all large research proposal applicants must submit a concept paper for review. Online submission for concept papers will open on January 7, 2015, and close on February 4, 2015. Concept papers will be reviewed, and applicants selected to submit a full proposal will be notified no later than March 9, 2015, at which point they will have until April 15, 2015, to submit a proposal.

Small research, junior investigator, mid-career mentor, and trainee proposals will be accepted from February 2, 2015, through April 15, 2015.

Please check the SFP website in the upcoming months for additional information.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Marlo Polonsky, Grants Officer.

Warm regards,
