December 2017  |  Vol. 9, #4

Dear colleagues,

In a year when science itself has been under siege, the Society of Family Planning has been a powerful force for showing that science matters.

Please help us sustain this work by making a tax-deductible contribution to SFP.

Among our accomplishments in 2017:

We awarded $3,257,217 to emerging and established scholars in the form of 50 grants, almost half for research focused on advancing access to abortion.

To date, our grants have supported the production of almost 200 publications in over 50 different academic journals, including BMJ, Contraception, and Women's Health Issues.

Nearly 1,300 of us gathered in October at the North American Forum on Family Planning to learn about the latest advances in clinical care and research, form new collaborations, and honor the contributions of luminaries in our field.

Our community has grown to nearly 800 members, with expertise in a broad range of clinical and academic family planning issues, as well as advocacy, litigation, and policy.

We supported the development of two new, highly regarded clinical practice guidelines, one focused on postplacental insertion of intrauterine devices and another focused on intrauterine devices in nulliparous women.

The SFP team has grown, with Ruth Manski joining as Evaluation Manager to help us continue to learn from our work and the work of our members and grantees.

Will you help us continue this work by making a tax-deductible contribution today? Your generous gift will enable us to bring new scholars to the field, produce our annual conference, develop new clinical guidelines, and support the dissemination of scholarly work.

With partners like you, we are proud to continue working to advance the science of family planning. Thank you for everything you do to help us make this possible. Together, we can stand up for science.

With gratitude,
