Dear SFP fellows and colleagues,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am delighted to inform you that the recipient of the 2013 SFP Lifetime Achievement Award will be Carole Joffe, PhD. Dr. Joffe is a professor at the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. She is also professor emerita of sociology at the University of California, Davis. Read more about Dr. Joffe’s work on our website.

I am equally delighted to announce that the recipient of the 2013 Allan Rosenfield Award for Lifetime Contributions to International Family Planning will be Paul D. Blumenthal, MD, MPH. Dr. Blumenthal is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He directs the Stanford Gynecology Service; the Division of Family Planning Services and Research at Stanford; and SPIRES, the Stanford Program for International Reproductive Education and Services, which provides technical assistance and training to family planning programs across Africa, Asia, and Central America.
