The Society of Family Planning (SFP) advances family planning research and education, providing evidence-based insight to improve clinical care in the areas of contraception and abortion. SFP also seeks to cultivate a collaborative and supportive environment to foster scholarly activity and leadership in the areas of reproductive health and family planning.

The SFP Research Fund’s 2013 competitive grant funding cycle is now closed and applications are being reviewed. Grant awards will be announced on our website in June.

logo for new North American Forum on Family PlanningSave the date!! The 2013 North American Forum on Family Planning will be held October 6-7 in Seattle, Washington. And note in particular these SFP events: the SFP Career Development Seminar and annual business meeting, both scheduled for October 6, and the awards luncheon on October 7, which this year will honor Carole Joffe, Paul Blumenthal and Bob Hatcher. Bob is the first recipient of a new annual award that will carry his name, the Robert A. Hatcher Family Planning Mentor Award.

The Forum, which SFP produces in partnership with Planned Parenthood Federation of America, features new research and clinical practice issues related to contraception, abortion, STIs, sexuality, and how to translate the best evidence into clinical practice.
