The Society of Family Planning (SFP) advances family planning research and education, providing evidence-based insight to improve clinical care in the areas of contraception and abortion. SFP also seeks to cultivate a collaborative and supportive environment to foster scholarly activity and leadership in the area of reproductive health and family planning.
To further these goals, SFP funds scientific research that can help strengthen family planning policies, services and programs; develops evidence-based clinical guidelines for practitioners; holds an annual meeting in partnership with the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America; and contributes to the publication of the monthly journal Contraception.
